Caught at Upwood and executed for spying

“Upwood was to experience some rather difficult times and localised action. Numerous accidents were interspersed with attacks by marauding Luftwaffe aircraft and a parachuting spy. This event led to much excitement around the base. The spy,  Josef Jakobs, was found guilty of treason and later executed at the Tower of London”

Possibly one of the most photographed sites in the country, it is like a ghost town, its buildings vandalised and shattered, its walls resonate with the ghostly callings of those who trod its corridors.
